Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness caused by a virus called SARS-CoV-2. The information provided on how the virus spreads is evolving over time. For the most up to date information, Mowry & Schmidt, Inc. has been referring to the CDC website to stay as informed as possible.
Mowry & Schmidt, Inc. has been and will continue to serve our clients, while working to protect the health of ourselves, our employees, our customers and the general public.
Potential sources of exposure to COVID-19 can include having close contact with a person who is ill with COVID-19 and from touching your nose, mouth, or eyes after touching surfaces contaminated with the virus or handling items that others infected with COVID-19 have touched.
To reduce transmission among our workers and on our job sites, Mowry & Schmidt, Inc. is taking the following steps:
Encouraging sick employees to stay home.
Sick employees diagnosed with COVID-19 are not allowed to return to work until cleared to do so by their medical providers.
Employees are provided with accurate information about COVID-19, how it spreads, and risk of exposure.
Toolbox talks are conducted on all job sites to explain the protective measures in place.
Training is provided to employees on proper handwashing practices and other routine preventative measures.
Employees are provided access to soap, clean running water, and materials for drying their hands, or if soap and water are not available, alcohol-based hand sanitizers containing at least 60% alcohol are provided at stations around the job site for use by both workers and customers.
Social distancing guidance is provided for the workplace to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between workers when possible.
Trucks to job sites are limited to (1) person per truck.
Disinfecting common areas; including breakrooms, bathrooms, and workspaces is completed at least once per shift.
Employees are provided with and required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), included but not limited to; face masks, gloves (only for certain circumstances), hand sanitizers and disposable disinfecting cleaning wipes.
